Help Stop Inhumane Treatment of Pets

Animal welfare legislation is supposed to regulate how pets are treated. Breeders are supposed to take their breeding stock for regular exercise, or they can be shut down. Unfortunately the law has a loophole. This loophole allows breeders to inhumanely treat their "stock" as long as they sell on-line. What can we do? Well, the ASPCA is asking for support for their suggested change to the Animal Welfare Act. But wait, that's not all. There is more you can do too:

  1. Your congressman needs to hear that you don't like animals being mistreated. You will be contacting them with the above link, but contact them again on your own. Make it clear that you don't support mistreatment of anything!
  2. DON'T BUY FROM BREEDERS, ADOPT! I'm sure you have heard on Oprah, the news, whatever that breeders mistreat animals. The facilities are not good. Even if they are forced to treat them a little better, the facilities will still be awful. These breeders will do the least they can in order to maximize their profits. Besides, there are tons of animals in shelters who need homes. Shelter animals are usually given their shots and fixed, which saves you money on the long run. Adopting an animal might save its life.
  3. Pray. Of course prayer is always welcome.
